The California Film Institute and Steep Productions present a benefit screening of the Academy Award-winning documentary The Cove. The film tells the amazing true story of how an elite team of activists, filmmakers and free divers embarked on a covert mission to penetrate a hidden cove in Japan, shining light on a dark and deadly secret. The shocking discoveries they uncovered were only the tip of the iceberg.
Q&A with world-renowned Marine Mammal Specialist (Animal Planet’s Blood Dolphin$) Ric O'Barry and the Film’s Director Louie Psihoyos.
A benefit for the Earth Island Institute/Save Japan Dolphins. Funds from this event will support Earth Island Institute’s campaign to promote eco-tourism in Japan as an alternative to the killing of whales and dolphins.
Special performance following the screening with the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir.
